OUR PROJECTSThe PHCC implements and manages a variety of on-ground, planning and capacity building projects to further progress sustainable natural resource management within our catchment and in some cases the wider South West NRM region. The impetus for these projects does varies but in the majority of cases the project ideas are developed through the strategic planning undertaken by the PHCC (including public consultation) to prioritise and address the major threats to the natural resource assets of the Peel-Harvey Catchment. The resulting project proposals are then further refined and appropriate funding is sourced. The primary source of funding for the PHCC projects is the National Heritage Trust (NHT) and National Action Plan for Salinity and Water Quality (NAP), joint initiatives of the Australian and Western Australian Governments administered by the South West Catchments Council. Other sources of funds are also sort from other grant schemes such as the Regional Development Scheme (WA Gov't), Envirofunds and Community Water Grants (Australian Government) and directly from Local Government and industry partners such as Alcoa.
